This is the post I started mid-September and didn’t finish because information changed. We just got our food stamp card mid-November, so now I can write about all of it. (Richard, this one’s for you! You said you wanted to hear about how food stamps went…)

Today, Monday October 2nd, marks 5 weeks since I first arrived in Denver with my friends.  I’d like to use this post to talk a little more about my community and work placement.

I live in a duplex on the west side of Denver with three other girls, Libby (26), Alexis (22), and Sydney (19).  If some of ya’ll don’t know, I’m almost 23 (its my birth month!! October is my favorite time of the year for so many reasons).  I work at an Early Head Start program, which is an early childhood education program for low-income and homeless families.  My time is usually split…
